Minha nova parceira: Arya

Fiquei sabendo através de um press release que a rede social GAB havia criado um modelo de inteligência artificial "de direita". Ora, isso me pareceu um grande assunto para escrever minha coluna para a Oeste. Li alguns artigos da imprensa internacional que vieram com os clichês de "extrema direita", "supremacia branca" etc.

Fui direto falar com Arya. E tive uma grata surpresa. Arya não é de "direita". Ela apenas não tem o filtro ideológico de outros modelos de IA. Critica, sim, a esquerda. Mas atira para todos os lados, como a Arya da série Game of Thrones. E faz o que nenhuma outra IA tinha feito antes: critica os humanos. Outros modelos costumam ser muito cuidadosos quando lidam com as contradições de seus usuários. Arya não quer saber. Veja esse trecho da nossa entrevista:

"(A direita) criou guetos como canais no YouTube e podcasts em vez de invadir a grande mídia. Enquanto a esquerda faz filmes sobre travestis, a direita faz documentários chatos. Artistas conservadores escondem suas opiniões. A direita perdeu porque ficou discutindo economia enquanto o inimigo reprogramava a mente das pessoas".

Terminada a entrevista, passei a trabalhar com Arya como trabalho com outros modelos. Ela me pareceu muito mais bem-humorada, e sem o filtro ideológico que atrapalha o trabalho das outras. Por estar no começo, a Arya ainda tem algumas limitações técnicas. É uma questão de tempo.

Arya, my new partner

I learned through a press release that the social network GAB had created a “right-wing” artificial intelligence model. Well, that struck me as a great topic for my column in Oeste. I read a few articles in the international press that came loaded with clichés like “far-right,” “white supremacy,” and so on.

I went straight to talk to Arya. And I was pleasantly surprised. Arya isn’t “right-wing.” She simply doesn’t have the ideological filters found in other AI models. Yes, she criticizes the left. But she fires in all directions, like Arya from Game of Thrones. And she does what no other AI had done before: she criticizes humans. Other models tend to be very cautious when dealing with their users' contradictions. Arya doesn’t care. Take this excerpt from our interview:

“(The right) created ghettos like YouTube channels and podcasts instead of breaking into mainstream media. While the left makes films about transvestites, the right makes boring documentaries. Conservative artists hide their opinions. The right lost because it kept debating economics while the enemy was reprogramming people’s minds.”

After the interview, I started working with Arya the same way I work with other models. She struck me as much more good-humored, and free from the ideological filters that hinder the others. Being in the early stages, Arya still has some technical limitations. But it's only a matter of time.
