Today, September 22, 2024, marks sixty years since the series The Man From U.N.C.L.E. first aired. The adventures of agents Napoleon Solo (Robert Vaughn) and Illya Kuryakin (David McCallum), under the command of Mr. Alexander Waverly (Leo G. Carroll), took some time to establish themselves but eventually became a symbol of 1960s pop culture. They were America's answer to the rising James Bond phenomenon.
In 2015, I paid tribute to my nostalgic memories by writing a book called Open Channel D – The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Affair, published digitally through Amazon/Kindle. The book sold especially well in the U.S., the U.K., and Australia. To celebrate the series' six decades, I produced a mini podcast featuring presenters powered by artificial intelligence.
My thanks go out to everyone who supported the production of this book, especially Claudio Poles, Rogério Naccache, Glaucia Almeida and Saulo Ribas. And to the virtual couple who hosts this program.
