Este ano já estive em dois eventos relacionados à inteligência artificial no Brasil. O primeiro foi o WAIFF, nosso primeiro festival de filmes à base de IA. No dia primeiro de abril compareci ao AIBrasil, um evento mais amplo que mostrou o quando a inteligência artificial já está mudando o país em detalhes que nem percebemos. E que geralmente são boicotados ou ignorados pela mídia.

Saí dos dois eventos muito animado. Não quero passar o que me resta de vida envergonhado pelo que fizeram com o Brasil. Quero ir para frente, e nas duas ocasiões vi essa possibilidade. No WAIFF, que aconteceu no princípio de março, vi um cinema brasileiro livre da burocracia estatal e da camisa de força ideológica.

No AIBrasil observei um país onde o futuro já chegou e que luta para ser reconhecido entre elites apegadas ao atraso. Tive a chance de conversar com seu criador, Pedro Chiamulera e o CAIO da organização, Anderson Soares, que estavam na sede da Google, na California. A Better Country

This year I've already attended two events related to artificial intelligence in Brazil. The first was WAIFF, our first AI-based film festival. On the first of April, I attended AIBrasil, a broader event that showed how artificial intelligence is already changing the country in details we don't even notice, details that are usually boycotted or ignored by the media.

I left both events very excited. I don't want to spend the rest of my life ashamed of what they've done to Brazil. I want to move forward, and on both occasions I saw that possibility. At WAIFF, which took place in early March, I saw a Brazilian cinema free from state bureaucracy and ideological straitjacket.

At AIBrasil, I observed a country where the future has already arrived and which is fighting to be recognized among elites clinging to backwardness.
