1988 01 15 Kool Moe Dee - JT.jpg

15 January 1988
At that time in Estadão I was in full "militancy" to listen to black music on the radio. It wasn't heard. Every rap or funk musician that appeared in São Paulo I ran to interview. In this case, I took my friend Fernando Moraes, who spoke much better English than I did. Kool Moe Dee was a rising star and he treated us with tremendous "who let these white people in the room?" Even so, we treated him with the utmost talent as he was a real talent in the rap world. Fernando had introduced me to Kool Moe Dee with the video for a song called "Wild Wild West". I still like a lot of what he did. But my friend and translator defined this encounter well recently: "Big moment of rudeness and mistreatment by an artist."
